The Valley Park neighborhood is located in southwest Topeka between Washburn Ave., 21st St., Randolph Ave., and Shunga Dr./Murrow Ct. We are home to over 600 households, numerous apartment complexes, The CRC CARE Center at Stout, Community Church, and a handful of local business.

Sitting on the edge of Big Shunga Park and McDonald Field provides access to many recreation activities, nature and wildlife sightings, and the Shunga Trail. You can find the Topeka Rugby Football Club pitch, Orville Rice Nature Trail, the skate park at Shunga Glen, and much more nearby as well.

Valley Park is fortunate to be surrounded by some of Topeka's most vital organizations such as Washburn University, Kansas Neurological Institute, Full Circle Sustainability, and TARC.

Valley Park Neighborhood Improvement Association

The Neighborhood Improvement Association is here to help build and foster connections, highlight resources, host community events, and more. The NIA gathers to discuss and take action on important issues in Valley Park from grant opportunities, infrastructure, crime and code issues, city representation, and more.

We'd love for you to lend your voice and perspective! Please consider coming to a meeting or joining at an event to see how you can help build a stronger community. The NIA typically meets on the last Thursday of the Month* at 6:30 p.m. at Community Church, 1819 SW 21st Street. (*No meetings in May or December.)

Let us know what ideas you may have, how we can serve the community better, if you have concerns or issues with the neighborhood, or just want to get up to date. Email us at ValleyParkNIATopeka@gmail.com.

We've got a whole host of good ideas to help make the neighborhood better! Sometimes it's as simple as needing an extra person or two to help lift the project off of the ground, or finding the right community partner or funding. If you can help with a current project great, but you're also welcome to help get any of the below going, or pitch your own!

Many groups and individuals help make Valley Park special!

This website is maintained by the Valley Park Neighborhood Improvement Association and we'd love YOUR input and involvement in making the community better!
